Bald Eagles and Eaglets

Some recent photographs.



1. Mom with her two eaglets. I was relieved to see this next survived last weeks weather front that moved through the state of Florida. Several Bald Eagle nests in Florida did not survive and some eaglets died as a result of the strong storms. I had previously only seen one of the eaglets but on this day the second one popped up for a few moments and I got some shots. This nest was not successful last nesting season.

2. Mom doing some nestoration. This is a new nest this season (and not the same as the above or below nest) and it happens to be located on the street that I grew up on (my parents had the house built in 1958 and we sold it 4 years ago). It is an emotional journey every time I visit this nest. This nest has one eaglet.

Top-notch, John. I'm especially impressed with the second one. Just finding that moving bird in a 600-mm field of view must be quite a challenge, much less holding it there long enough to get a sharp shot.

Thank you Pa! I use a tripod with a gimbal head as much as I can.
