This works really well for me. I'm curious to know if you tried various parts of the keyboard to keep in focus and decided upon this as the best of the lot. Anything else about your approach would also be interesting.

It's also interesting that the number "5" grabs my attention even though a larger part of the number "3" is in focus. I have no idea why my eye goes to the "5."

Thanks Mike, I took around 8 shots using live view and focus peaking. I had a black umbrella over the calculator and camera to cut down the light.

I did move the calculator around and took different takes, this one, when I looked at them on the computer was the one that I just thought worked the best with the angle and 7, 5 and 3 being in focus and 5 being slightly off center does leap out to my eye as well.

I think I figured out why the "5" attracts my eye: The grey area around it is slightly darker than the same area around the "3." That increased contrast pulls my eye toward the "5."
