I think you'll be happy with the lens on your trip. WAY lighter than the equivalent coverage with a FF body and 24-120.

I’ve been pleased with this lens. I sometimes wish I had the 17-55 2.8, but I like the greater range and smaller size of this lens and I have found it plenty sharp.

this lens is crazy good. On my D500 it crushes my 24-120 on my D850 (and on the D800)
