There are a few isolated street shots that I've seen in the (admittedly short) time I've been around here. Street shooting is one of my passions, so I thought I'd start a dedicated thread for it and people can add their own street photography as they like. I don't buy into there being any highly specific definition of what street photography is, but to me people are sort of key. Street portraits, people in the context of their environments, whatever. That's not a hard and fast rule, but it kind of guides me in my shooting. These shots are with both my Nikon Coolpix A (maybe my favorite street camera ever) and my DF (various lenses, from 20-58mm) to get this started...

William, from Aberdeen? Home of the Spar! I lived in the Puget Sound area for many years, mostly Seattle area but also the South Sound around Olympia. There's a Spar there where I used to eat more often than I care to admit. Lot's of breakfasts and the best milk shakes in the Northwest - I actually did some field work on the milk shake question! And when I was out on the Peninsula and stopped in Aberdeen, I'd grab something at the Spar there too, because you stay with what you know! I've been away from that area for about 25 years now, with just the occasional visit... I loved it out there.

Spent last week in Costa Rica and Nicaragua shooting critters mostly. I'm not a "street photographer" by any means. That's a whole new world to me, but a few jumped at me while I was there so I grabbed em.

I'm not originally from this area. Moved to Oceanshores, WA from Attleboro, MA in 1999 and then
moved to Aberdeen in 2005. Only thing I can find on Google about 'The Spar' is a business that
makes wooden masts for sailing ships.

I lived in Olympia for a couple of years in the early 80's and remember the Spar. There was also a place called Crackers (in tribute to the Marx Bros. movie "Animal Crackers" and also the legislators from further up the hill. Alas, it is no more.
